Mint Mentha arvensis

Mint leaves have  a strong peppermint smell when crushed. Mint grows in wet areas, swamps and streambanks, among reeds and cattails. It’s easy to overlook until you step on the leaves and then it’s unmistakable. First Nations drank strong mint tea in the morning to combat bad breath and it is still commonly used as tea today.
